Do you have any tips for playing Fight to Survive online, James?

Thanks for the message. F2S is a pretty easy game to run online, and has a few advantages over running it at a table. Here's my tips.

1. Have players message you, the GM, their Move picks for the Round. Keeps them honest. A one-letter shorthand, GPKBF, is good.

2. When something is happening to everyone and all PCs need to pick a Move, have them type it into a General channel visible to everyone. It makes it more exciting for the players.

3. When a Comfort is Under Threat I type it out where everyone can see and pin it so people know it's still a problem.

I might have to say that most of my F2S games have been run online, in fact. That's just the way it goes these days.

Good luck with that. Fight the good fight,

Thank you so much for the detailed reply, James! I'll follow your tips.

For No. 1, should we ask the players to send their consecutive moves right away, e.g  GPF, KBP etc?

And how about the NPC Opponents Moves on each Round, how should we declare the NPC Moves best to also make it more transparent to the players, James?

Just each Round when you know people need to prep Moves, get them to send it to you. You don't even have to really look at them, but it helps people not cheat themselves. Also, they're not consecutive! It's just a pool of options.

For NPC Moves I just write them down on a slip of paper beside my monitor and cross them off when I use them, I don't bother sharing them. I guess you could send them to everyone else not involved in that particular fight to heighten the tension? That could work. Just make sure to write up the NPC Moves before the game even starts, to make sure it's not a game about the fighting player trying to outguess you specifically. Keeps you honest.

Alright, i got it! Thank you so much for the tips, James! These tips are really helpful.

This is truly and without exaggeration the greatest TTRPG I have ever played. Players love it, it is a joy to run, it is a breeze to prep, it is electrifying every time someone lands a dramatic finishing blow against their opponent. The combat system is smooth, it requires roughly 30-45 seconds of explanation before a completely new player understands it enough to start throwing hands. Combat starts with a new player thinking about what they have the best numbers in and ends with a psychological battle as the player tries to think about what you think an opponent would do at a given time. If I were to fully explain how every facet of this game is incredible then I would never post this comment as I would keep typing out praises for it until I died. My one problem with the system is that there are very few people to talk about the system with, and I'm doing my absolute best to fix that problem by spreading the good word of Fight To Survive to anyone and everyone who'll listen. Again, I cannot stress this enough, this is the best TTRPG I've ever played. Radio James Games, if you're reading this, you're all geniuses, and thank you

I'm about to go into a convention weekend and your post has been doing a little dance inside my heart for a few days now. It's nice when somebody gets it. I believe F2S has a great future if it can find its audience. Thank you for spreading he word, and thank you for your kind words.

What an amazing game! A big labour of love. Great work, James and team!

Thanks! You made my afternoon.
